INTRODUCTION

The Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI) has established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous, and self-sustained premier testing organization under the Societies Registration Act (1860) for conducting efficient, transparent, and international standardized tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions with a mission to improve equity and quality in education by developing and administering research-based valid, reliable, efficient, transparent, fair and international level assessments.

NTA has created a system that is promoting teaching (by teachers), learning (by students), and assessment (by parents and institutions). NTA strongly believes in the quality, efficiency, effectiveness, equity, and security of assessments. To practice these values, NTA is constantly engaging with its stakeholders, viz. students, parents, teachers, experts, and partner institutions.

ABOUT RASHTRIYA MILITARY SCHOOL (RMS)

Rashtriya Military School are English medium residential Public Schools run by the Ministry of Defence to import quality education to the wards of defence personnel and civilians from classes VI to XII. These schools are the founding members of the Indian Public Schools’ Conference (IPSC). Established in the year 1925, these schools are among the oldest Public Schools in India. There are five Rashtriya Military Schools (RMS) located at Chail in the Shimla Hills of Himachal Pradesh, Ajmer and Dholpur in Rajasthan, Belgaum and Bengaluru in Karnataka. Cadets are admitted in to class VI & IX through a Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted under the aegis of the Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Army).

RMS CET-2026 will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
The responsibility of NTA is limited to inviting online applications, operating the online application portal, conducting Stage-I (Written Examination), initial scrutiny of applications for issuance of Admit Cards, processing/evaluation and declaration of the Stage-I result, and providing the processed merit data to RMS. RMS remains responsible for framing and administering eligibility, vacancy, reservation/merit and admission criteria; Stage-II Medical Examination, Stage-III Interview, Stage-IV final merit/selection and admission; and final verification of original documents and eligibility at subsequent stages.
